Introducing Monitor

A public dashboard tracking AI, the labour market and the wider economy.

Today we are launching Monitor, a public dashboard tracking AI, the labour market and the wider economy. It brings together data that would otherwise mean following many different sources, from AI capabilities and adoption to employment, inflation and government debt.

Keeping up with all the data on AI, the economy and financial markets is exhausting, especially as more and more is published. We believe we are living through a transformation of the economy and the labour market. Following the data helps us understand where that change is already happening and where expectations are running ahead of the evidence.

AI labs, economics teams at companies like Ramp and Stripe, and independent researchers like SemiAnalysis are publishing more data on how AI is being built and used. Our aim with Monitor is to make this growing body of data easier to follow and to point you to where it comes from. The full data and analysis sit with the publishers, such as Ramp and SemiAnalysis, and we encourage you to read them there. Thank you to all the companies, researchers and institutions that publish this data and make Monitor possible.

We have currently structured Monitor around four pillars:

AI: Capabilities, usage, costs and investment in infrastructure.

Capabilities, usage, costs and investment in infrastructure.

This is a living dashboard that updates as new data comes in. We’re already working on new sections and will keep adding data as new research is published.

Have a look, and let us know what you’d like us to track next.
